Elizabeth Prothro Organ Concert Series
In September of 2004, the Annual Elizabeth Prothro Organ Concert Series was established to bring world-famous organists to Wichita Falls, Texas. Every year in the fall, FUMC invites a world-renowned organist to give a special concert on our 2003 Garland Pipe Organ. Sometimes the show focuses solely on the music, but from time to time, it has featured silent movies. Either way, you will be thoroughly entertained! These are FREE concerts! You do not need a ticket to attend; seating is first come, first served.

Music for Organ and Trumpet
Join FUMC, Katherine Meloan, and Thomas Sexton for an evening of music on Thursday, April 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. This event is free to the public. The church nursery will be available for children aged 3 and under (beginning at six weeks old) with advanced registration.
Sanctuary Organ
In June of 2002, a major organ renovation began, the largest organ project since 1954. Dan Garland Pipe Organ Company of Fort Worth worked on the overall project. A new 4-manual organ console was built by Robert Turner of California. Dr. George Baker of Dallas was our organ consultant. Facade pipes were built on both sides in the chancel area to add more elegance and beauty in the sanctuary. A new air-heating system was installed in order to stabilize the temperature in the organ loft area. The entire ceiling was also replaced to improve the acoustics in the sanctuary during the summer of 2002. The new organ was completed in September of 2003. Dr. George Baker gave the dedication organ concert on Friday, September 19, 2003.
