John McLarty’s sermons in the new year will examine the struggles of life and faithfulness. This series is intended to bring hope to those who may be asking hard questions about the challenges that come in this life. Topics will include: “Rising from the Shame of Failing,” “Finding Purpose in Shattered Dreams,” “Trusting God in Troubled Times,” “Growing Through our Grief,” “Navigating Depression, Despair, and Doubt,” and “Taking Encouragement in Christ.”

Talking about the first sermon series of 2024, John said, “Our society seems more anxious than ever, and I believe this is a result of a long season of unresolved grief and pain. We have not given ourselves space to work through some of the big challenges we have faced over the past several years. Depression and anxiety are at epidemic levels. But thankfully, the Scriptures have much to offer as we navigate these difficult seasons of life. These sermons will be for anyone who has ever struggled and wrestled with staying faithful to God when things seem hopeless. It’s a great opportunity for our people to grow closer to God and for friends who are new to the faith to find strength and comfort in a relationship with God. I hope people will invite their friends to worship and to hear these important messages.”

The “Unresolved” series will launch on January 7.
