FaithWaze: Following Jesus to a Meaningful Faith

Every person’s “walk” with Jesus is a journey—and every journey has many paths. For the next few weeks, my new sermon series, FaithWaze, will explore different “routes” people throughout Christian history have taken in order to draw closer to God. And while there may be different ways to get there, the destination is the same: a Christ-centered life.

For this series, I’ll be using Richard Foster’s book, “Streams of Living Water.” Each week, we’ll look at a distinct “stream” of faith that flows from the example of Jesus himself. Together we’ll learn what it means to pray deeply, study Scripture faithfully, live with integrity, follow the Spirit’s leading, serve with compassion, and recognize God’s presence in the ordinary moments of our lives.

From the contemplative life of prayer to the call for justice and mercy, these spiritual pathways remind us that there’s no single formula for following Jesus. Instead, God invites each of us to grow in faith through the gifts God gives us, through our interests and passions, as well as through the circumstances of our lives that shape us into who we are.

FaithWaze isn’t about finding the one “right way” to believe—it’s about discovering how the different aspects of practicing our faith connect us to the same Savior and guide us together as a community of love and grace.

I hope you will join us on this journey as we learn to walk in Christ’s footsteps, and I hope you will invite a friend along for the ride as we experience God’s transforming presence and find direction for our lives.

With love, and joy, serving as your pastor,
John McLarty
