A sermon series on the meaning and importance of Sabbath.

Re-Membering: Keeping the Sabbath Holy

In a world that runs 24/7, we can often feel as if we are running on empty. We get pulled in every direction. We’re always connected, yet often disconnected from our true selves and from God. What if the remedy isn’t doing more, but doing less?

For the final three weeks of May, First United Methodist Church will offer a sermon series called “Re-Membering: Keeping the Sabbath Holy.” The church will explore what it means to honor the gift of Sabbath. We’ll rediscover how this ancient rhythm of rest can help us find peace in our busy lives, reconnect us to what truly matters, and restore our weary souls.

Each week, we’ll offer meaningful worship, an encouraging message, and a practical challenge to help us slow down and breathe deeply. In addition, several Sunday school classes will participate in a companion discussion guide for deeper insight. This series is for anyone who may be feeling overwhelmed, overworked, or just overdue for rest.

Worship happens on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. on May 11, May 18, and May 25 at First United Methodist Church—10th and Travis Street, downtown Wichita Falls. Come rest, reconnect, and be renewed.
