The YES (Young Energetic Seniors) of First United Methodist Church was formed in 1995 to provide entertainment, educational, and spiritual activities for FUMC senior adults to keep them active in the church and their personal lives. The YES sponsors the Do Unto Others (DUOs), a crisis transportation, sitting service; in addition to educational classes, special luncheons, dinners, speakers, and game days. Travel with the Roadrunners includes art exhibits, musicals, Broadway shows in the Metroplex, and trips to such places as Natchez, Branson, and Santa Fe. For more information, call Joyce Barham at 766-4231 or send her e-mail. |

The YES is not a fund-raising organization. Any proceeds realized from activities go to needs of the church and to underwrite a YES event. For more information, call Joyce Barham, Senior Adult Coordinator, at (940) 766-4231, ext. 234, or send her an e-mail. |
Fashion Show
This annual event is one of the most original and most popular events staged by YES. In 2005, the show theme was "Hats of All Season." The hats are owned by a church member and will be modeled by some surprise models. YES committee members prepare and serve a home-cooked luncheon with the show.
Christmas Tea & Home Tour
A tea followed by a tour of the city Christmas lights and a visit to some Wichita Falls homes decorated for Christmas has been a long-time holiday tradition.
Christmas Shopping Trip
Each year the YES committee sponsors a day trip to an out-of-town shopping center and usually combines this trip with a tour of a holiday-decorated house or other holiday attraction.
Roadrunner Trips
One of the most exciting YES activities is the Roadrunner Trips. We have had overnight trips to such places as Nachez (MS), Branson (MO), Texas Hill Country, Salado, and Palo Duro Canyon, as well as many day trips to the Dallas Meyerson Symphony Center, Fort Worth Kimbell Museum, Granbury Opera House, Bass Performance Hall, and more.
