FUMC is now on Remind! Many of you will be familiar with Remind through WFISD. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Remind, it is a program that was initially created for school teachers and administrators to communicate with parents and students through text message. Many churches also use this program as another avenue of communication between staff and congregation. Because of its origins as a school program, however, the language used is educational in nature. Groups are called “classes” and group leaders are called “teachers.” If you see a message about responding to the teacher, this is automatically generated language and the “teacher” is whoever administers the group you’re in (see below).
This is an opt-in service. To receive text message updates from the church, you must add yourself to the list.
We currently have two “classes” available to join:
- FUMCWF Updates, which is used for church-wide events and notices and is administered by our Communications Coordinator and pastors. Text @fumcwf to 81010 or click here to join this list.
- FUMCWF Children, which is used for events and reminders specific to the Children’s Ministry and is administered by our Communications Coordinator and Children’s Director. Text @fumcwfkids to 81010 or click here to join this list.
If you have trouble texting to 81010, try sending your code to (606) 618-9777.
If you have a smartphone and would like to receive push notifications instead of or in addition to texts, you can download the Remind app. You do not need the app to receive texts only.
