Extravagant Generosity: The Heart of Giving

Thank you to those who turned in their Estimate of Giving Cards last Sunday! If you haven’t turned yours in yet, please bring it by November 20.

Be aware that your Estimate of Giving Card will look different than in years past because of the Extravagant Generosity program.

“By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.” (Galatians 5:22-23)

Generosity is a fruit of the Spirit. How often do we ponder generosity and our faith story? This fall, we are giving you an opportunity to explore generosity in connection to your faith story through a program called Extravagant Generosity.

Our program is four weeks long beginning Sunday, October 23rd. Each week, there will be a special emphasis. You will be asked to participate by filling out Heart Cards. There will be a speaker each week who will be sharing their answer to the Heart Card question. The sermons will center on the theme of generosity and emphasis for each week.

Each family will share in a devotional book titled Practicing Extravagant Generosity: Daily Readings on the Grace of Giving. Copies will be given out during Sunday school and worship services on October 16 and available in the church office after that for you to pick up. Our hope is you will participate in this exciting spiritual journey as our congregation moves towards developing a culture of generosity.

If you get a chance, stop by the Heart Card wall next to the Sweeton Room (in the hallway leading to the church office) and read what your fellow church members are saying! Or you can click the links to see how others have responded to What I Love About My Church, People Who Have Made a Difference In My Spiritual Life, and Visions and Hopes for My Church.
