About the
Zarepath Class:
- We
are a diverse group of men and women of all ages. Most of us take
part in other ministries of the church, such as choir, handbells,
or TV ministry. These ministries often need us to meet earlier than
other Sunday School Classes let out, so our class was started to
make it easier for us to attend a lesson.
- We
are a class that has very diverse theological views, yet our friendships
override our differences. We, therefore, invite and welcome the
sharing of our opinions and beliefs. We hope you will join us!
About our
name :
- Our
name comes from 1 Kings 17 when the prophet Elijah was sent to Zarepath.
There, he performed two miracles: enough flour and oil was available
to make bread for Elijah, a widow, and her son for many days; and
Elijah brought the son back to life from death. Keeping these miracles
in mind, we look for God's miracles to happen in our lives!
What and how do
we study?
- To guide us in our study of the
Bible, we use various studies, including:
- Our primary teacher is Steve
Cox, but others will teach when he is out.
Where
does the Zarepath Class meet?
- We
meet in the Undercroft basement area under the Sanctuary in room
20-U, also known as the Choir Room.
What
time do we meet?
- Our
class meets from 9:15 to 10:00 each Sunday morning, allowing time
for members to attend either the 8:30 or 10:30am Worship Services
at FUMC. Plus, it allows members the opportunity to take part in
music and TV ministries of the church, which often need people to
leave earlier than other Sunday School Classes let out.
