The Aldersgate Class Mission Statement:
Sowing seeds of Christian fellowship and education through service.
About our class
We are a class mainly in our 30s and 40s. Couples and individuals of all ages are welcome as we grow together through fellowship, Christian education, and reaching out in a missionary capacity. Our goal is to have fun together while learning about God and serving others.
About our name:
It was at a Methodist Society on Aldersgate Street on May 24, 1738 that John Wesley had his famous heartwarming experience of transformation while hearing Martin Luther’s preface to the book of Romans being read. Thus, we seek to be a place to warm the hearts of all who take part in this class.
What and how do we study?
We will strive to be theologically and politically diverse in our approach to study. Studies we have done in the past include:
- Law vs. Grace
- What the First Amendment Really Means
- Reconciling Faith and Reason
- Spiritual Gifts and How to Use Them
Where does the Aldersgate Class meet?
We meet on the third floor of the Education Wing.
- Super Bowl Party
- Family Get Togethers at parks and/or pools
- Pot Luck Meals
- And more!
