THE INTERIM DIRECTOR, Mrs. Faye Canafax, was a teacher at the School for Little People (SLP) for 9 years before becoming the SLP director (although she does still teach as a director). Now she is the acting director for the Children's Center. She holds a degree in voice and music education with all level teacher certification. She also holds special certification for Early Childhood Education. Faye has even been working on her masters in administration as time allows.

Some of her favorite memories are of the wonderful children she has been privileged to teach over the years. She says even being a small part of so many little lives is an awesome responsibility. Therefore, she constantly strives to become a better teacher and director. Try as she might, though, she knows that she will never be able to give the children half as much as they have given her.
